Today we want to talk to you about the Coastal Trail of Oles, in the council of Villaviciosa. We depart from Oles, accompanied and guided by our collaborator and friend Javier. A luxury host who proudly shows us the beauties of his council.
We go through villages, we come to know a jetmouth, and we ourselves can find on the ground jet remains and learn to differentiate them. We follow the route, leaving the bikes, and continue on foot descending the course of the river, and passing through several water mills, until we reach some impressive cliffs that amaze us to the Cantabrian Sea. We will return to the point where we have left the bikes and from there we will approach the village of Villar, where the Lighthouse of Tazones sits.
Tazones is the only Asturian port that is part of the imperial routes of Charles V, having been the first thing that Emperor Charles V met on his first voyage to the Peninsula, in September 1517.
From the Lighthouse it is possible to descend to the port by steep stairs, and undoubtedly Bowls is a must for those who want to enjoy their exquisite seafood.
We finish the route by returning to Oles.
This route is of medium-low difficulty, combines 50% walking tour, with 50% bike, and lasts approximately 3 hours.
